A crisp serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and bracketed, tapered serifs that stay sharp at the terminals. Capitals are dignified and evenly proportioned, with a moderate stance and clean joins; curves show controlled stress and smooth rounding into stems. The lowercase keeps a steady rhythm with compact apertures and firm verticals, while details like the two-storey “a” and “g,” a beaked “f,” and a delicate “t” crossbar reinforce a traditional text-seriffed construction. Numerals follow the same high-contrast logic, mixing straight stems with finely tapered finishing strokes for a cohesive page color.

Well-suited to long-form reading in books and editorial layouts where a traditional, high-contrast serif can provide structure and polish. It can also serve formal display needs—chapter titles, pull quotes, and refined stationery—when paired with generous spacing and comfortable leading.

The overall tone is scholarly and composed, projecting authority without feeling ornate. Its contrast and sharp finishing give it a slightly ceremonial, bookish character that reads as established and trustworthy.

The design appears aimed at a conventional, literature-forward serif that balances refinement with dependable readability. Its controlled contrast and bracketed serifs suggest an intention to evoke established print traditions while remaining versatile across text and display settings.

At text sizes the face forms a fairly dark, even texture, with clear punctuation and strong capital presence for headings. The italic is not shown, but the roman exhibits subtle calligraphic influence through its stress and tapered terminals.
