A robust serif with pronounced stroke contrast and a steady vertical axis. Serifs are bracketed and often beaked, with rounded joins that give strokes a slightly swelling, inked feel. Counters are generous and forms are broadly proportioned, producing an open, confident texture. Terminals frequently end in soft balls or teardrops (notably in lowercase), and several joins show subtle notches that read like restrained ink-trap behavior. Numerals are weighty and oldstyle-leaning in character, with strong curves and tapered entries.

Best suited to headlines and display settings where its weight, contrast, and distinctive terminals can be appreciated. It can also support short editorial passages, pull quotes, and book-cover typography where a classic serif voice is desired, though its dark color will dominate in long-form small text.

The overall tone is traditional and editorial, combining classic bookish authority with a touch of warmth from the rounded terminals and softened bracketing. It feels confident and established rather than delicate, making it well suited to serious or heritage-leaning typography.

The design appears intended as a conventional, print-minded serif with heightened presence: familiar classical structures reinforced with heavier strokes, sculpted bracketing, and expressive terminals to create a strong, readable voice for editorial and branding-led typography.

Lowercase has a notably sturdy, compact rhythm with strong ascenders and rounded shoulders, while capitals maintain a stately presence through broad widths and firm serifs. The face maintains clarity at display sizes thanks to open apertures and distinct silhouettes, even as heavy weight and contrast create a dark, emphatic color.
