A very heavy, high-contrast serif with compact, sculpted counters and pronounced bracketed serifs. Strokes show a clear thick–thin rhythm, with rounded joins, teardrop/bulb-like terminals, and occasional notch-like ink-trap details where strokes meet. The lowercase has a traditional, slightly oldstyle construction with a two-storey a and g and a relatively steady x-height, while capitals are broad and emphatic with tight interior space. Numerals appear mixed in character, with oldstyle-style forms and strong modulation that matches the text color of the letters.

Best suited for headlines, pull quotes, magazine or newspaper-style display typography, and packaging that wants a classic, print-forward voice. It can work for short subheads or branding wordmarks where its distinctive terminals and contrast can be seen clearly, but it will be most effective when given enough size and spacing to breathe.

The overall tone is editorial and theatrical: bold, confident, and slightly vintage. Its rounded serifs and swelling terminals add warmth and personality, while the strong contrast and dense color give it a commanding, headline-forward presence.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif foundation with a more expressive, display-weight interpretation. The strong contrast, bracketed serifs, and ink-trap-like notches suggest a focus on impactful print-style typography that remains traditional in structure while adding a distinctive, carved personality.

At display sizes the carved details and interior notches read as deliberate character, but the dense black shapes and tight counters can make small sizes feel crowded. The rhythm is consistent across the alphabet, with especially distinctive forms in the S, a, g, and several numerals that reinforce a classic, print-like texture.
