A compact serif with flared, wedge-like terminals and a strong vertical rhythm. Strokes carry noticeable contrast, with robust verticals and finer connecting strokes that sharpen into pointed or tapered endings rather than blunt slabs. Counters are relatively tight and the overall color is dark and dense, giving text a weighty presence. Uppercase forms are sturdy and slightly condensed, while the lowercase keeps a traditional, readable structure with a moderate x-height and crisp, sculpted joins. Numerals are similarly compact and sturdy, matching the text’s firm, engraved feel.

Best suited to headlines, subheads, and other short-to-medium text where a strong typographic voice is needed. It can work well in editorial layouts, book covers, and branding that wants a classic, authoritative character in a space-efficient width. For long passages, it will read most comfortably with generous leading to balance the dense color and compact spacing.

The tone is assertive and traditional, with a slightly theatrical sharpness from the tapered terminals. It reads as serious and editorial, suggesting printed authority—more “headline and proclamation” than casual or friendly. The dense color and compact proportions add urgency and gravitas.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional serif voice with extra bite and presence through flared stroke endings and compact proportions. It aims to feel historically grounded while remaining impactful in display settings, offering a strong, print-like texture and clear, structured forms.

In continuous text the face produces a tight, punchy texture, where the flaring and tapering at stroke ends adds sparkle without turning into ornamental detailing. The narrow set and strong verticals make it feel space-efficient, especially in all caps, while the sharp terminals can become visually prominent at larger sizes.
