A high-contrast serif with crisp, bracketed serifs and a pronounced thick–thin rhythm. Curves are smooth and generously rounded (notably in O, C, and Q), while verticals stay firm and upright. The lowercase shows traditional proportions with open counters and a clear, readable construction; the two-storey a and g are compact and structured, and the r and e have controlled, sharp terminals. Numerals and capitals feel stately and evenly balanced, giving the design a polished, print-oriented color on the page.

Well-suited to editorial typography such as magazines, long-form articles, and book interiors, where its classic serif structure supports comfortable reading. The contrast and sharp detailing also make it effective for display use—chapter openings, pull quotes, and refined headlines—especially in print or high-resolution settings.

The overall tone is classic and cultivated, projecting authority without feeling ornate. Its sharp hairlines and decisive serifs add a sense of formality and editorial sophistication, suitable for traditional, text-forward communication.

The design appears intended as a conventional, literary serif that combines traditional letterforms with a crisp, contemporary finish. It prioritizes a steady text rhythm and recognizable shapes while adding elegance through strong contrast and precise serif treatment.

At larger sizes the fine hairlines and tight, crisp joins contribute to a clean, engraved-like finish, while the wider round forms keep the texture from becoming overly severe. The italic is not shown, and the displayed forms emphasize a conventional, book-type baseline rhythm.
