A compact serif with strongly bracketed serifs, sharp wedge-like terminals, and clear calligraphic modulation. Strokes show pronounced thick–thin contrast with a mostly vertical stress, producing crisp joins and a lively rhythm. Proportions are relatively narrow with tight counters, while capitals feel sturdy and slightly sculpted; lowercase forms maintain a steady, readable texture with modest ascenders and descenders. Numerals and punctuation follow the same chiseled, high-contrast logic, giving the set a cohesive, print-oriented color.

Well-suited to book and long-form editorial typography where a traditional serif voice is desired, especially in print or high-resolution settings. It also performs nicely for headings, pull quotes, and classic brand identities that benefit from a refined, historical tone.

The overall tone is classic and bookish, with an old-world polish that reads as measured and authoritative. Its sharp serifs and high-contrast modulation add a touch of formality, while the slightly calligraphic shaping keeps it from feeling cold or mechanical.

The design appears intended to echo traditional old-style serif construction with visible calligraphic influence, balancing a compact footprint with a crisp, high-contrast finish. Its goal seems to be providing a literary, established voice with enough sharpness to carry in display sizes.

At text sizes the face creates a darker, more engraved-looking texture due to narrow counters and firm verticals; it benefits from comfortable line spacing to let the serifs and descenders breathe. The italic is not shown, but the roman’s lively terminals and bracketing suggest a design aimed at traditional typographic flavor rather than neutrality.
