A high-contrast serif with bracketed, tapered serifs and a distinctly calligraphic rhythm. Curves show diagonal stress and gently modulated thick–thin transitions, giving the rounds (C, O, G) a lively, organic feel. Uppercase proportions are stately and open, with crisp terminals and elegantly tapered arms in letters like E and F, while the lowercase uses a slightly italicized, handwritten influence in its shaping and joins. The numerals appear old-style with varied heights and descenders, reinforcing the text-oriented, traditional construction.

Well-suited to editorial typography where a traditional, cultivated voice is needed, including books, long-form articles, and magazine features. It also fits display use in refined contexts—chapter openers, pull quotes, cultural institutions, and formal announcements—where its high-contrast detail and classic proportions can be appreciated at larger sizes.

The overall tone is classical and bookish, with a refined presence that feels established rather than flashy. Its calligraphic inflection adds warmth and a human touch, balancing formality with an inviting, editorial character.

The design appears intended to evoke a traditional old-style reading experience with a clear nod to broad-nib calligraphy. By combining dignified capitals with a more fluid, subtly italicized lowercase and old-style numerals, it aims to deliver an elegant, literary texture that feels both historic and personable.

The italic-like energy in the lowercase creates a flowing texture in continuous reading, while capitals remain composed and authoritative for headings. Stroke contrast and tapering are pronounced enough to read as elegant, but the forms retain generous counters and smooth curves that keep the texture from feeling brittle.
