A classic serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and bracketed serifs that flare gently at terminals. The letterforms show a traditional, calligraphic construction: rounded bowls are smooth and open, joins are clean, and stroke endings often finish with a slight wedge or taper. Capitals are stately and moderately wide with clear, vertical stress in curves; the uppercase Q has a distinctive tail, and the R’s leg and K’s diagonals feel carefully carved rather than geometric. Lowercase features a two-storey a and g, compact apertures, and sturdy, readable counters; numerals are lining and balanced, with an open-top 4 and a curved-foot 2.

Well-suited to long-form reading in books and editorial layouts, as well as academic or institutional materials where a traditional serif is expected. It also works effectively for headings, pull quotes, and formal print collateral that benefits from a dignified, established typographic texture.

The overall tone is established and bookish, projecting authority and tradition without feeling ornate. It reads as confident and refined—appropriate for contexts where a familiar, reputable serif voice is desired.

The design intent appears to be a dependable, conventional text serif that delivers a familiar literary feel, combining high-contrast elegance with practical readability for continuous prose.

In text, the contrast and serif detailing remain crisp, while the relatively generous proportions and steady spacing help maintain clarity at larger paragraph sizes. The design favors conventional shapes over eccentric quirks, supporting a smooth reading rhythm.
