A robust serif with strongly bracketed, cupped serifs and pronounced thick–thin modulation. The joins and curves show a subtly calligraphic influence, with rounded terminals and occasional ball-like finishing on strokes, giving counters a soft, carved feel. Proportions are generous and open, with broad capitals and sturdy lowercase forms; the overall color is dark and even, built from solid verticals and confidently weighted horizontals. Numerals appear oldstyle in construction, mixing ascenders and descenders that integrate smoothly with running text.

Well suited for editorial typography, headlines, and display copy where a classic serif voice is desired. It can serve effectively in book covers, magazine features, and branding that benefits from a traditional, established tone, especially in medium-to-large sizes where the contrast and serif modeling read clearly.

The tone is classic and bookish, projecting authority and formality without feeling brittle. Its weight and contrast add a sense of gravitas suited to serious, editorial contexts while the rounded details keep it approachable and warm.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, print-oriented serif with a bold, confident presence and subtly calligraphic detailing. It aims to balance traditional letterform structure with expressive serif and terminal shaping for impactful, readable display typography.

At larger sizes the serif shaping and terminal details become a key part of the personality, producing a slightly vintage, print-forward impression. The strong weight creates high presence in headlines and pull quotes, while the open counters help maintain clarity in shorter text settings.
