This typeface is a high-contrast serif with bracketed, wedge-like serifs and a distinctly textured, ink-worn surface. Strokes show a calligraphic logic with slightly irregular edges and occasional notches, giving the forms a printed, distressed feel rather than a polished digital finish. Proportions are moderately narrow-to-medium with lively, varied character widths; counters are open but shaped by strong thick–thin transitions. Rounded letters like O and Q are slightly eccentric, while joins and terminals often taper into sharp points that reinforce the hand-crafted rhythm.

It performs best in headlines and short to medium-length settings where the textured detailing can be appreciated, such as book covers, editorial display, posters, and branding or packaging that aims for an antique or artisanal look. At very small sizes the roughened interior speckling and edge distressing may reduce clarity, so it’s most effective when given enough scale and whitespace.

The overall tone feels vintage and bookish, with a tactile, workshop quality reminiscent of aged letterpress or worn signage. Its texture adds character and a mildly eccentric charm, balancing seriousness with a handmade, slightly roughened personality.

The design appears intended to combine classical serif structure with an intentionally weathered, inked texture, evoking older printing processes while remaining legible and upright. It aims to deliver a warm, human presence through calligraphic stress, lively proportions, and surface irregularity that suggests age and materiality.

Caps carry a strong presence with pronounced serifs and dramatic contrast, while the lowercase maintains readable, traditional construction despite the distressed detailing. Numerals echo the same rugged texture and sharp terminals, making them visually consistent with the alphabet and well suited to display contexts where a printed patina is desirable.
