This serif typeface combines very strong thick–thin modulation with sharply defined, bracketed serifs and a predominantly vertical stress. Capitals are stately and fairly wide in stance, with clean, flat serifs and crisp joins that give forms like E, F, and T a firm, architectural presence. Lowercase shows compact, bookish proportions with narrow apertures (notably in c and e), a double-storey a, and a sturdy, rounded g; counters remain clear despite the high contrast. Stroke transitions are smooth and refined, and the overall rhythm feels measured and traditional, with pronounced hairlines and decisive thick stems.

It performs best in display and editorial roles such as magazine headlines, section openers, book or journal covers, and prominent quotations where its contrast and sharp serifs can read as intentional elegance. In longer passages it can work for print-oriented text settings when given adequate size, leading, and printing conditions that preserve the thin hairlines.

The tone is classic and editorial, evoking traditional publishing, academic seriousness, and a sense of authority. Its high contrast and sharp detailing lend a slightly dramatic, refined voice suited to more formal, curated contexts rather than casual or utilitarian ones.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast serif that delivers a polished, literary impression while maintaining familiar text-type structures. Its emphasis on crisp serifs, vertical stress, and disciplined proportions suggests an aim for authoritative typography with a refined, editorial finish.

Numerals follow the same high-contrast logic, with strong verticals and elegant curves; the 4 is open and angular, while 8 and 9 emphasize rounded bowls against fine connecting strokes. The font’s crisp, tapered diagonals (e.g., in V, W, X, Y) add sparkle at display sizes, while the tighter apertures and fine hairlines suggest care is needed in small sizes or low-resolution reproduction.
