A conventional serif with crisp, bracketed serifs and clearly modulated strokes that create a firm dark–light rhythm. The forms are broadly proportioned with generous counters and open apertures, helping the letters stay clear despite the strong contrast. Serifs are tapered and neatly shaped rather than slabby, and curves show controlled, slightly calligraphic stress. Lowercase details include a two-storey “a” and “g,” a single-storey “y” with a curved descender, and a “Q” with a distinctive sweeping tail. Figures appear as lining numerals with serifed construction and classic, slightly oldstyle-like detailing in some shapes.

Well suited to long-form print typography such as books, essays, and editorial layouts where a classic serif texture is desired. The strong contrast and clear capitals also make it effective for headlines, chapter titles, and institutional branding that needs a traditional, authoritative voice.

The overall tone is traditional and bookish, projecting credibility and restraint. Its contrast and confident serifs lend a slightly dramatic, print-forward voice that feels appropriate for established institutions and edited prose rather than casual interfaces.

The design appears intended as a dependable, classic text serif that balances readability with a refined, print-oriented character. Its broad proportions and clear modulation suggest it was drawn to deliver an even reading rhythm while still providing a crisp, formal presence at display sizes.

In the text sample, the design maintains a steady texture and solid word shapes, with punctuation and capitals carrying a noticeable presence. The letterforms lean toward sturdy, editorial readability, with enough sharpness in the serifs and joins to keep headings and pull quotes looking crisp.
