A traditional serif with bracketed serifs, clear vertical stress, and a crisp, high-contrast stroke model. Capitals are sturdy and slightly condensed in feel, with flat, squared serifs and neatly controlled curves (notably in C, G, and S). Lowercase forms are compact and rhythmic, with a two-storey a and g, a sharply beaked f, and a narrow, pointed w; joins and corners stay clean rather than calligraphically soft. Figures are upright and fairly even in texture, with squared bowls and open counters that keep the set readable at text sizes.

Well-suited to long-form reading in books and editorial layouts, where the high-contrast serif structure can provide strong word shapes and a classic texture. It also works effectively for magazine features, pull quotes, and headline/subhead pairings that want a traditional, authoritative voice.

The overall tone is formal and editorial, evoking book typography and institutional print. Its sharp, composed detailing reads as serious and confident, with a slightly old-style, literary flavor rather than a modernist coolness.

The font appears designed to deliver a conventional, print-oriented serif experience: crisp high-contrast strokes, disciplined proportions, and familiar letterforms that prioritize clarity and an established editorial tone.

The design favors crisp edges and strong verticals, producing a firm line of text and a slightly mechanical regularity in curves and terminals. Spacing in the sample appears generous enough for continuous reading, while the high contrast gives headlines a decisive presence.
