A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and ample horizontal proportions. Serifs are bracketed and smoothly transitioned, with rounded, slightly bulbous terminals appearing on several strokes. Counters are generous and rounded, giving the face a steady, readable texture despite the strong contrast. Uppercase forms are broad and stately, while lowercase shows traditional, text-oriented construction with a two-storey a and g and relatively short, sturdy ascenders and descenders. Numerals appear oldstyle in proportion and alignment, blending naturally with running text.

This font suits editorial typography where a strong, classic serif voice is desired—magazine features, book typography, and newspaper-style display. Its wide, high-contrast shapes also perform well in large titles, pull quotes, and brand applications that call for traditional gravitas and clear typographic personality.

The overall tone is classic and editorial, with a confident, authoritative presence. High-contrast strokes and broad letterforms add a sense of drama and formality, while the rounded joins and open counters keep the voice approachable rather than austere.

The design appears intended as a conventional text serif with elevated contrast and a broad stance, balancing traditional letter construction with a more assertive, display-friendly weight. The oldstyle-feeling numerals and classic two-storey forms suggest an emphasis on literary and editorial settings, while the bold presence supports impactful titling.

The rhythm in text is dark and even, with substantial vertical stems and strong hairlines that sharpen the silhouette in larger sizes. Wide capitals and prominent serifs make headlines feel weighty and traditional, while the lowercase retains familiar book-serif cues for comfortable paragraph setting.
