This serif face shows a calligraphic, old-style structure with clear diagonal stress and pronounced thick–thin modulation. Serifs are bracketed and softly tapered, giving strokes a gently modeled, hand-influenced feel rather than a sharp, mechanized one. Capitals are open and stately with flared terminals in places, while lowercase forms are compact with a relatively small x-height and lively, slightly varied rhythm. Numerals appear as oldstyle figures with ascenders and descenders, contributing to an uneven, text-friendly texture.

It performs well in editorial and book typography, especially for literature, essays, and features where a traditional serif texture is desired. The lively capitals and refined contrast also suit pull quotes, section heads, and tasteful branding applications such as cultural events, museums, or formal stationery.

The overall tone is classical and bookish, with a warm, traditional voice that feels suited to established institutions and long-form reading. Its contrast and crisp finishing add refinement, while the subtly calligraphic shaping keeps it approachable rather than austere.

The design appears intended to provide a historically grounded, readable serif with visible calligraphic influence—balancing refined contrast and crisp serifs with warm proportions for comfortable text setting and elegant display use.

Text samples show a comfortable, familiar paragraph color where the short x-height and strong contrast create an elegant vertical sparkle at display sizes, but a more delicate feel as sizes get smaller. The design emphasizes graceful curves and tapered joins, producing a distinctly historical, humanist impression.
