A high-contrast serif with sharply tapered hairlines and substantial, sculpted main strokes. Serifs are bracketed and refined, with pointed, wedge-like terminals appearing on several forms, lending a slightly calligraphic edge to an otherwise conventional text structure. Capitals are broad and stately with clear vertical stress, while lowercase shows compact bowls and crisp joins; the two-storey a and g are traditional and tightly drawn. Numerals follow the same contrast logic, with strong verticals and delicate connecting strokes that emphasize a polished, print-oriented rhythm.

Performs best in headlines and short-to-medium passages where its contrast and sharp detailing can be appreciated—magazine features, book covers, cultural posters, and premium brand systems. It can also serve as a strong secondary text face in print layouts when set with comfortable spacing and sizes that protect the thin strokes.

The overall tone is confident and editorial, with a formal, traditional voice and a touch of theatrical drama from the extreme stroke contrast. It feels suited to established institutions and premium branding, projecting seriousness and authority without becoming ornate.

The design appears intended to modernize a classic text-serif model by pushing contrast and sharpening terminals for stronger visual impact. It balances conventional letter construction with a more dramatic stroke economy to create an assertive, publication-ready voice.

At display sizes the hairlines and interior apertures read particularly crisp, while the dense, weighty stems give headlines a commanding presence. The punctuation and curves maintain a consistent sharpness, reinforcing a clean, engraved-like finish.
