A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and bracketed wedge serifs. Stems are sturdy and vertical, while joins and curves show a subtly calligraphic influence, with ball terminals and tapered entry strokes in several lowercase forms. The lowercase features a moderate x-height with compact counters and slightly narrow apertures, producing a dense, text-ready rhythm. Figures include oldstyle forms with descenders/ascenders, matching the mixed, bookish texture of the letters.

Well-suited for book and long-form editorial typography where a classic serif texture is desired, and it also holds up nicely in headlines and deck copy thanks to its strong contrast and firm serifs. It can add a traditional, premium tone to magazine layouts, cultural branding, and packaging that benefits from a literary or heritage voice.

The overall tone is authoritative and traditional, with an editorial seriousness that reads as established and trustworthy. Its strong contrast and confident serifs add a formal, slightly dramatic flavor suitable for emphatic typography without feeling ornamental.

The design appears intended as a conventional, print-oriented serif that balances classical proportions with strong contrast for clarity and presence. It aims to deliver a familiar editorial voice with enough vigor for display use while preserving a cohesive reading rhythm in text.

Capitals are stately and relatively wide, giving headings a solid, classical presence, while the lowercase maintains a compact, print-like color. Curved letters show crisp stress and controlled swelling, and the punctuation and ampersand carry the same sturdy, engraved-like character.
