A compact serif with pronounced vertical stress and sharp thick–thin modulation. The serifs are wedge-like and crisply bracketed, with sturdy terminals that keep the forms firm and grounded. Proportions run condensed, especially in the capitals, while counters remain relatively open, producing a dense but readable texture. The lowercase shows a two-storey “a,” compact bowls, and a sturdy, upright stance, contributing to a disciplined, newspaper-like color on the page.

Well-suited to headlines and subheads in newspapers, magazines, and editorial layouts where a compact, forceful serif is needed. It can also support branding elements that want a traditional, institutional feel, as well as posters or book covers that benefit from a classic, high-contrast texture. For longer reading, it will work best at comfortable sizes with adequate leading due to its dense rhythm.

This typeface projects a confident, editorial tone with a slightly stern, old-world seriousness. Its crisp contrast and emphatic vertical rhythm give it an authoritative, formal voice that feels at home in traditional print contexts.

The design appears intended to deliver strong typographic presence in limited horizontal space while retaining a traditional serif voice. Its high contrast and robust serifs suggest a focus on impactful headings and emphatic display text, with enough structure to remain legible in shorter passages.

The capitals read especially tall and columnar, creating a strong vertical cadence. Numerals are similarly weighty and traditional in feel, matching the overall compact, print-forward character.
