A slanted, high-contrast serif with a calligraphic construction and visibly textured edges, as if printed from worn type or written with a dry brush. Strokes show strong thick–thin modulation and tapered terminals, with occasional bite-like nicks and uneven ink spread along contours. Serifs are sharp and slightly flared, and many joins have a subtle, hand-cut irregularity. Proportions lean classical with a compact lowercase (notably short x-height) and lively, slightly variable character widths that create a natural, non-mechanical rhythm across words.

Well suited to display settings where texture is an asset: book and film titles, posters, album or event graphics, and packaging seeking a vintage or handcrafted impression. It can also work for short editorial callouts or pull quotes, especially at larger sizes where the distressed detailing can be appreciated.

The overall tone reads antique and atmospheric—part old book typography, part distressed print ephemera. The roughness adds drama and immediacy, giving text a tactile, archival feel rather than a polished contemporary voice.

The design appears intended to blend traditional italic serif letterforms with an intentionally aged, irregular finish, evoking worn printing or roughened ink. The goal is to deliver a classic, literary structure while adding character through texture and slight inconsistencies that feel handmade and timeworn.

In running text, the italic angle and contrast produce a strong forward motion, while the distressing remains consistent enough to feel intentional rather than noisy. Numerals match the same slanted, calligraphic logic and maintain the worn-edge texture for cohesive setting in display lines.
