A sturdy serif with bracketed serifs, rounded joins, and a compact, vertical build. Strokes are full and even in color, with moderate contrast and smooth transitions into the serifs, giving the letters a dense, confident rhythm. Counters are relatively tight and proportions feel slightly condensed, while curves remain controlled rather than calligraphic. The lowercase shows a two-storey a and g, a ball-terminal f, and strong, high shoulders in n/m, contributing to a conventional, bookish texture; numerals are weighty and steady, suited to continuous setting.

Well suited to editorial display work such as headlines, subheads, and pull quotes where a dense serif voice is desired. It can also support book-cover titling and magazine typography, and works effectively for posters or institutional communications that benefit from a traditional, authoritative serif.

The overall tone is classic and institutional, with an editorial seriousness that reads as dependable and established. Its heavy, compact presence lends authority and gravitas, evoking print traditions such as book typography, newspapers, and formal publishing.

The design appears intended to provide a robust, conventional serif with strong presence and familiar forms, optimized for impactful editorial typography while retaining the disciplined proportions and detail expected of classic serif construction.

In the sample text the dark color and tight internal spacing produce a strong typographic “ink” presence, making it especially effective at larger sizes for headings and pull quotes. The design’s rounded terminals and bracketing soften the weight, preventing it from feeling overly rigid.
