A robust serif with strong vertical stress and clear contrast between thick stems and thinner joins. Serifs are bracketed and slightly flared, with a mix of wedge-like feet and curled, beaked terminals that add a traditional, bookish texture. Counters are moderately open and the curves are full, giving the face a steady rhythm and a dark, even color in text. The lowercase shows compact, rounded forms with a single-storey g and a distinctive, looping tail on j, while figures are oldstyle in feel with noticeable ascenders/descenders and varied widths.

Well-suited to editorial typography such as book interiors, long-form articles, and magazine layouts where a traditional serif voice is desired. Its strong weight and crisp contrast also make it effective for headlines, pull quotes, and packaging or branding that aims for heritage and credibility.

The overall tone is classic and authoritative, with an editorial seriousness that suggests printed books, newspapers, and formal communication. Decorative touches in terminals add a hint of vintage charm without pushing into overt display styling.

The design appears intended to provide a conventional, readable serif foundation with enough distinctive terminal detailing to feel characterful in titles and editorial settings. It balances a dark, confident color with traditional proportions to deliver a familiar, trustworthy typographic voice.

The face reads confidently at larger sizes thanks to its heavy presence and pronounced serifs, while the high-contrast structure and lively terminals create a slightly textured line in paragraph settings. Capitals are sturdy and stately, and the numerals carry a traditional, text-oriented personality rather than a strictly tabular, modern look.
