A conventional serif with bracketed, wedge-like serifs and clear stroke modulation. Curves show a calligraphic influence with swelling transitions into the stems, while horizontals stay comparatively light, giving the face a crisp, high-contrast texture in text. Proportions are balanced with moderate capitals and a normal x-height; counters are open and comfortably sized. Terminals often end in subtle teardrop/ball shapes (notably on forms like J and a), and the overall rhythm is even and readable across mixed case and numerals.

Well-suited to long-form reading such as books, essays, and editorial layouts, where its bracketed serifs and steady rhythm support comfortable scanning. It also works effectively for formal documents, academic material, and refined headings when set with generous spacing.

The font projects a classic, bookish tone with a quietly authoritative presence. Its sharp serifs and controlled contrast feel formal and established, suitable for editorial settings where tradition and clarity matter.

The design appears intended as a dependable, traditional text serif that balances elegance with day-to-day readability. Its contrast and tapered serifs add polish while maintaining familiar proportions for continuous text.

The numerals follow the same contrast and serif treatment as the letters, reading cleanly alongside capitals. The italic is not shown; all samples appear upright. The sample text demonstrates a stable paragraph color with enough contrast to feel elegant without becoming brittle.
