This serif typeface features sharply bracketed serifs, pronounced thick–thin modulation, and a predominantly vertical axis that gives strokes a crisp, carved look. Capitals are sturdy and dignified with generous bowls and clear terminals, while the lowercase shows traditional oldstyle touches such as a two-storey “g” and calligraphic shaping in “a,” “e,” and “s.” Curves are smooth and full, counters are moderately compact, and the overall rhythm alternates between strong vertical stems and finely tapered hairlines. Numerals follow the same high-contrast logic, with elegant diagonals and tapered terminals that keep them consistent with the text forms.

It performs well in book and magazine typography, editorial layouts, and formal headings where high-contrast detailing can be appreciated. The strong capitals and lively lowercase also make it a good candidate for nameplates, cultural branding, and pull quotes that need a traditional, authoritative voice.

The tone is classic and literary, evoking traditional book typography and formal editorial settings. Its refined contrast and crisp detailing convey authority and seriousness, with a subtle sense of elegance suited to established, heritage-minded design.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast text serif with a classic print sensibility, balancing readability with elegant, sculpted stroke endings. It aims to provide a dependable, timeless typographic texture for long-form composition while offering enough sharp detail to carry display roles when set larger.

At larger sizes the hairlines and pointed joins become a defining feature, emphasizing an engraved, high-end feel. In denser text the compact counters and sharp serifs create a darker, more declarative color, making it particularly suited to confident typographic hierarchy.
