A high-contrast serif with a strongly sculpted, flared feel: main stems are hefty and vertical while joins and terminals taper into sharp, wedge-like serifs. The letterforms show clear vertical stress and crisp inner counters, with rounded shapes (O, C, G) drawn as compact ovals and relatively tight apertures. Uppercase proportions are sturdy and formal, while the lowercase is compact with a moderate x-height and pronounced stroke modulation; curves and diagonals (v, w, y) are cut cleanly with pointed terminals. Numerals share the same dramatic thick–thin rhythm, reading best at display sizes where the delicate hairlines remain distinct.

Performs best in headlines, deck copy, and pull quotes where the contrast and flared serifs can be appreciated. It also suits magazine branding, book covers, and poster typography that needs a classic, authoritative voice. For long passages at small sizes, the tight apertures and fine hairlines suggest using generous size and leading to maintain clarity.

The overall tone is assertive and editorial, projecting tradition and polish with a slightly theatrical edge from the sharp flares and strong contrast. It feels suited to confident, high-end communication—more headline-forward than utilitarian—evoking classic print typography with a contemporary crispness.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional serif voice with heightened drama: strong vertical structure, pronounced thick–thin contrast, and flared, wedge-like serifs that add a carved, editorial personality. It balances classic proportions with crisp detailing to create a distinctive display text face for impactful typography.

In text settings, the dense rhythm and narrow apertures create a dark color on the page, especially where rounds and verticals repeat. The flared stroke endings add motion at the baseline and cap line, giving words a carved, monumental presence without the blockiness of slab forms.
