A high-contrast serif with narrow proportions and a distinctly calligraphic stress. Stems transition from very thick verticals to hairline joins, with wedge-like, bracketed serifs and frequent ball/teardrop terminals that add a slightly ornamental finish. Curves are smoothly modeled and somewhat flared, giving round letters a sculpted, engraved feel, while many capitals show sharp apexes and tapered arms. Overall spacing reads even and texty, with lively rhythm created by the strong thick–thin modulation and the recurring terminal shapes.

It performs well for editorial design, book-style settings, and magazine typography where high contrast and traditional serif detailing enhance the reading experience. The expressive terminals and strong contrast also make it effective for display roles such as headlines, pull quotes, titles, and formal stationery where a classic voice is desired.

The tone is traditional and literary, evoking classical printing and editorial typography with a subtle decorative flourish. It feels refined and authoritative rather than playful, suited to settings that want a touch of old-world elegance without becoming overly ornate.

The design appears intended to reinterpret a classic serif model with pronounced contrast and individualized terminals, aiming for a cultured, print-forward texture that stands out in both text and display sizes.

Distinctive terminal treatments (notably on forms like J, a, g, y, and several numerals) create a recognizable texture in headlines. Numerals follow the same high-contrast logic and include curled details on several figures, reinforcing the font’s slightly embellished character.
