A high-contrast serif with sharply tapered hairlines and weighty vertical stems, giving a distinctly chiseled light–dark rhythm. Serifs are bracketed and pointed, with beak-like terminals and pronounced triangular spurs that add snap at joins and ends. Curves are full and slightly teardrop-like in the heavier parts, while counters stay relatively tight, producing a compact, punchy silhouette. Capitals feel stately and sturdy, and the overall texture is dense and emphatic, especially at display sizes.

Best suited to headlines, editorial titles, book and magazine covers, and prominent pull quotes where contrast and serif detail can be appreciated. It can work for short-form text at comfortable sizes, but its dense weight and sharp hairlines suggest using it where crisp reproduction and generous spacing are available.

The tone is classic and authoritative with a theatrical edge—evoking bookish tradition, old-world formality, and headline gravity. Its strong contrast and assertive terminals lend a slightly dramatic, poster-like presence while remaining rooted in conventional serif manners.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional serif voice with heightened contrast and energetic terminals, combining classical proportions with a more dramatic, display-forward rendering. It aims for strong readability and presence while retaining familiar, conventional letterforms.

The italic is not shown; all samples appear roman. Numerals and lowercase share the same sculpted, slightly calligraphic stress, and round characters (O, Q, 0, 8, 9) emphasize deep thick–thin modulation. The lowercase shows sturdy, bulbous finishing strokes (notably on a, e, s) that enhance a lively, engraved feel.
