A robust serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and a dark overall color. Serifs are bracketed and often wedge-like, with crisp terminals that give counters a sculpted, ink-trap-free look. Capitals are broad and steady with slightly condensed joins and strong vertical emphasis, while the lowercase shows a traditional, slightly calligraphic construction—noticeable in the ear and bowls of “g,” the curved tail on “y,” and the lively, tapering strokes on “s” and “f.” Numerals are oldstyle-leaning in feel: rounded forms with strong contrast and distinctive, flared terminals, contributing to an elegant but weighty texture in text.

Best suited for headlines, magazine and newspaper-style editorial typography, and book-cover titling where its strong contrast and substantial weight can shine. It can also support short passages, pull quotes, and formal brand messaging, especially in print or large on-screen settings where detail in the serifs and modulation remains clear.

The tone is traditional and editorial, projecting authority and polish rather than minimalism. Its high-contrast rhythm and confident serif treatment evoke print heritage—suited to refined, serious messaging with a touch of classic warmth.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic text-serif voice with elevated contrast and a darker, more emphatic color than typical reading faces. It balances traditional proportions with expressive terminals to create a confident, print-forward presence for editorial and display typography.

The typeface maintains a consistent heavy presence across glyphs, with generous stroke contrast that reads especially well at display sizes. Curves are smooth and full, and junctions are clean, giving paragraphs a dense, stately texture that benefits from ample leading.
