A high-contrast slab serif with robust, rectangular serifs and sharply defined joins. Stems are comparatively heavy while horizontals and connecting strokes often thin down, creating a crisp, engraved rhythm. The serifs read as mostly bracketed with square terminals, and several letters show small notch-like cut-ins at inner corners that add a slightly mechanical, ink-trap-like character. Rounds (C, O, Q) are smooth and open, with a clear contrast between thick verticals and lighter curves; the overall spacing feels generous and the forms are built to hold their shape at display sizes.

Best suited to headlines, deck copy, and short paragraphs where its contrast and slab serifs can be appreciated. It can support editorial layouts, book or magazine titling, packaging, and branding that wants a classic serif voice with a more graphic, attention-getting finish. For long text, it will be most comfortable at moderate sizes with ample leading.

The tone blends traditional authority with a distinctive, slightly eccentric edge. It feels scholarly and editorial—like book typography or institutional printing—while the sharp contrast and corner notches add a retro, stamp-and-type vibe that reads confident and a bit theatrical.

The design appears intended to modernize a classic slab-serif model by combining sturdy slabs with pronounced contrast and crisp detailing. The small corner cut-ins and sharp terminals suggest a desire for strong reproduction and a distinctive texture in both display and larger text settings.

Uppercase shapes are assertive and structured (notably the broad E/F and strong slabbed I/H), while lowercase keeps a clear, readable skeleton with single-storey a and g. Numerals follow the same contrast and slab logic, with open counters and crisp terminals that match the text sample’s bold, poster-like color.
