A slanted serif with sturdy, inked-in strokes and visibly irregular contours, as if printed from a slightly worn plate or set with distressed type. Serifs are bracketed and uneven, with softened joins and small burrs along edges that create a textured rhythm. Counters are generally compact and the overall color is dark and assertive, while the italic construction introduces a forward-leaning flow and varied character widths across the alphabet. Numerals and lowercase echo the same handmade wear, with small details (dots, terminals, and serifs) showing intentional roughness rather than geometric precision.

Best suited to display and short-to-medium passages where its distressed italics can carry mood—headlines, pull quotes, book covers, menus, labels, and heritage-style packaging. It can work for editorial lead-ins or opening paragraphs when you want a darker, more characterful typographic voice than a clean text serif.

The font conveys a vintage, tactile tone—part bookish, part old-print ephemera—suggesting craft, history, and a slightly rebellious editorial edge. Its distressed finish feels warm and human, like ink on paper, making it more expressive than neutral text faces.

The design appears intended to blend conventional serif structure with an intentionally worn, inked texture, delivering the familiarity of a classic italic while adding handcrafted irregularity for atmosphere and authenticity.

The texture is consistent across caps, lowercase, and figures, producing a lively, slightly noisy surface that becomes a defining feature at larger sizes. In continuous text, the strong slant and dark weight create momentum and emphasis, while the irregular edges can reduce crispness at small sizes or on low-resolution screens.
