A condensed serif with tall proportions, compact counters, and strongly bracketed serifs that give the strokes a carved, print-like finish. Vertical stems are dominant and steady, with moderate thick–thin modulation and a generally vertical stress. Terminals tend to be firm and slightly tapered rather than ball-ended, and the overall rhythm is tight, with narrow letterforms and closely spaced internal shapes. Lowercase shows a traditional text-seriffed construction with a two-storey ‘a’, compact ‘e’, and relatively short ascenders/descenders for the height, keeping lines cohesive at text sizes.

Well suited to space-conscious editorial settings such as newspapers, magazines, and book interiors, where a condensed text serif can maintain a consistent texture across long runs. It can also serve effectively for headlines, subheads, and captions when a classic, authoritative voice is desired without expanding line length.

The tone is traditional and editorial, evoking book typography, newspapers, and institutional print. Its narrow, upright posture feels disciplined and efficient, while the classic serif detailing adds a sense of authority and seriousness.

This design appears intended as a conventional, readable serif optimized for narrow setting, balancing traditional letterforms with a compact footprint for efficient composition. The sturdy, bracketed serifs and controlled contrast suggest a focus on stable texture and a familiar, print-oriented character.

The condensed width gives strong economy of space and a pronounced verticality, which can make long passages feel dense if set too tightly. Numerals follow the same tall, narrow logic, supporting consistent color in mixed text and figures.
