This is a high-contrast serif with sturdy vertical stems, tapered hairlines, and flared, cupped terminals that read like softly bracketed serifs. The forms are compact and upright, with a pronounced vertical stress and crisp joins that keep counters relatively tight, especially in C/S and the bowls of B/R. Uppercase proportions feel stately and slightly condensed in rhythm, while the lowercase shows a moderate x-height with strong ascenders and round dots on i and j. Numerals are similarly weighty and contrasty, with clear thick–thin modulation and compact widths that match the typeface’s dense texture.

Best suited for headlines, magazine titling, and book-cover typography where contrast and flare can be appreciated. It can also work for short-form editorial text or pull quotes when you want a rich, authoritative page color, and for branding that aims for a classic, premium feel.

The overall tone is classic and editorial, combining authority with a theatrical edge from the sharp contrast and flared endings. It feels traditional rather than minimalist, suggesting refinement, confidence, and a slightly old-world gravitas that stands out in display settings.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional serif voice with added punch: strong vertical structure paired with dramatic contrast and flared terminals to increase presence. It prioritizes typographic personality and dense, confident color for display and editorial applications.

Spacing and letterfit create a dark, continuous color at text sizes, with emphasis on verticals and pointed wedges in letters like W, V, and Y. Curved letters show smooth, controlled thinning into terminals, giving the face a deliberate, engraved-like finish without appearing delicate.
