A sturdy serif with pronounced stroke contrast and a distinctly hand-cut, slightly irregular contour. Serifs are sharp and wedge-like with subtle bracketing, and many terminals end in pointed beaks or spur-like flicks that give the outlines a carved, inked feel. Curves are a bit faceted rather than perfectly smooth, and the joins show lively modulation, producing an uneven, tactile rhythm. Counters are moderately open, while the overall color is dark and compact, especially in capitals and the heavier numerals.

Best suited to display sizes where the sharp serifs and irregular edge texture can be appreciated—headlines, titles, posters, and expressive branding. It can also work for short passages in themed contexts (historical, fantasy, rustic goods), but the strong texture and dark color make it less ideal for long, small-size reading.

The face reads as antique and story-driven, evoking old printing, woodcut posters, and folk or medieval references. Its animated terminals and rugged texture add drama and personality, making text feel assertive and slightly theatrical rather than neutral.

The design appears intended to combine old-style serif structure with a hand-inked, carved surface, prioritizing character and atmosphere over strict geometric smoothness. It aims to deliver a vintage, craft-forward voice that remains legible while feeling deliberately roughened and dramatic.

The uppercase has a strong, emblematic presence, while the lowercase keeps the same jagged, calligraphic bite in smaller forms (notably in the compact, sturdy bowls and the pointed terminals on letters like a, e, and r). Numerals are bold and characterful, matching the angular, cut-in shapes seen in the letters, which helps maintain consistency in display settings.
