A robust, right-leaning serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs. The letterforms show a calligraphic influence: strokes taper into pointed terminals, curves are lively, and joins create a rhythmic, slightly springy texture across lines. Proportions are comfortably wide with generous counters, and the italics are strongly modeled rather than simply slanted, with distinctive shapes in the lowercase (notably a single-storey a and g, and a long-descending f). Numerals match the overall weight and contrast, with rounded forms and angled stress that keep them visually integrated with text.

Best suited to editorial and display contexts such as magazine headlines, book and chapter titles, posters, and prominent pull quotes where its contrast and italic modeling can be appreciated. It can also work for short blocks of text or lead-ins when a classic, formal voice is desired, but will be most effective where size and spacing allow the sharp details and modulation to remain clear.

The font conveys a traditional, editorial tone with a touch of flourish—authoritative and polished, yet energetic. Its strong italic character and sharp terminals add drama, suggesting emphasis, ceremony, and classic print sophistication rather than neutrality.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional serif voice with a distinctly expressive italic—pairing traditional serif construction with calligraphic energy. It prioritizes strong presence, clear rhythm, and a polished, print-oriented look for attention-grabbing typographic moments.

In running text the dark color and pronounced contrast create a confident presence, while the wide stance helps maintain openness at display sizes. The italic rhythm is especially prominent in mixed-case settings, where the angled stress and tapered serifs make word shapes feel animated and emphatic.
