A right-leaning serif with a calligraphic feel, showing gently bracketed serifs, tapered stroke endings, and a moderate thick–thin rhythm. Curves carry an oblique stress and the joins feel slightly fluid rather than rigidly geometric. Capitals are sturdy and slightly wide with crisp finishing, while lowercase forms are compact with a smooth, continuous italic flow; several letters show subtly varied set widths that create a lively, text-like rhythm. Numerals appear as oldstyle figures, mixing ascenders and descenders and reinforcing a bookish, classical texture.

Well-suited to editorial typography—book interiors, magazine features, and long-form reading—where an italic with presence is needed for emphasis. It can also serve for elegant headlines, pull quotes, and lead-ins, especially where a classic serif voice and strong italic motion help create hierarchy.

The overall tone is traditional and literary, with an assertive italic voice that suggests editorial emphasis, quotations, and cultivated formality. Its strong black shapes and sweeping curves add warmth and drama without becoming decorative, reading as confident and established rather than trendy.

The design appears intended as a conventional text serif with a robust italic character, balancing traditional proportions and serif detailing with a distinctly calligraphic slant for expressive emphasis in reading-focused layouts.

Counters remain open enough for paragraph settings, but the pronounced slant and energetic terminals make the face feel most natural in continuous text or emphasized passages. The ampersand matches the italic momentum and keeps a conventional, readable construction.
