A sharply drawn serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, bracketed serifs. The letterforms feel broad and open, with generous set width and clear, well-separated counters. Curves transition into stems with a slightly calligraphic tension, while terminals tend to finish with pointed or beaked details rather than blunt cuts. Uppercase forms are sturdy and stately; the lowercase shows a compact, readable rhythm with distinctive, slightly angular joins and lively ear/terminal shapes. Numerals appear oldstyle in construction, with varying heights and noticeable contrast that matches the text color.

Well suited to editorial typography where a classic serif voice is desired—book interiors, long-form articles, and magazine layouts—particularly at comfortable text sizes and above. The wide stance and crisp contrast also make it effective for headlines, pull quotes, and sophisticated branding that benefits from a traditional, print-forward impression.

The overall tone is traditional and bookish, projecting a confident, cultivated voice. Its sharp detailing adds a touch of formality and authority, giving it an editorial, “printed page” character rather than a neutral UI feel.

The font appears designed to deliver a conventional, literary serif texture with elevated contrast and refined detailing, aiming for clarity and authority while retaining a slightly calligraphic, engraved-like sharpness in terminals and serifs.

The design maintains a consistent contrast pattern and serif treatment across rounds and straights, producing a strong, dark text color at display sizes. Wide proportions and crisp serifs create a distinctive presence, especially in capitals and in the more expressive lowercase terminals.
