A slanted serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and sharp, clean finishing. The serifs are bracketed and tapered, with subtly calligraphic joining and a compact, rhythmic texture that stays even despite the italic angle. Counters are relatively open, while terminals often end in crisp wedges or hooks, giving the design a decisive, engraved feel. Numerals follow the same italic stress and contrast, with strong curves and clear weight concentration on the main strokes.

Well-suited to editorial typography where an assertive italic voice is needed—magazine features, book interiors for emphasis, chapter openers, and pull quotes. The strong contrast and sharp serifs also make it effective for headlines and display lines that aim for a classic, authoritative impression.

The overall tone is traditional and elevated, suggesting established publishing and institutional communication. Its italic energy adds a sense of momentum and sophistication, reading as confident rather than casual.

The design appears intended to provide a traditional, high-contrast italic for conventional serif typography, combining a classical reading rhythm with enough weight and sharpness to hold up in prominent text and emphasis roles.

Diagonal strokes in letters like A, V, W, and Y appear sturdy and carefully balanced, and the curved letters show a consistent stress that reinforces a classical reading line. The lowercase shows lively entry/exit strokes and compact joins, which can make it feel dense and emphatic in longer settings.
