A sturdy slab-serif with pronounced, bracketed slabs and a slightly sculpted, ink-trap-like shaping at joins and terminals. Strokes show noticeable thick–thin modulation, with heavy vertical emphasis and firm, squared-off serifs that still retain soft curvature where they meet the stems. Proportions are compact and headline-leaning, with relatively large counters in rounded letters and tight, efficient spacing that keeps words dense and weighty. The lowercase has a robust, workmanlike rhythm (single-storey forms in places, strong shoulders, and a prominent ear on the g), while figures share the same blocky, serifed construction for a consistent texture in mixed text.

Well suited to headlines, deck copy, and display settings where a solid slab-serif voice is needed—posters, packaging, book covers, and brand marks with a traditional or collegiate bent. It can also work for editorial pull quotes or short blocks of text when a darker, more emphatic typographic color is desired.

The overall tone is authoritative and old-school, combining a newspaper/editorial seriousness with a collegiate, poster-ready punch. It feels dependable and assertive rather than delicate, projecting a classic, institutional presence with a slightly rugged, print-like character.

The letterforms appear intended to deliver a classic slab-serif authority with high visual impact, balancing sturdy construction and readable counters with subtle shaping that adds warmth and prevents heaviness from turning muddy in print-like settings.

The design’s small notches and softened inner corners help keep heavy strokes from clogging, especially at text sizes where dense slabs can otherwise darken quickly. Uppercase forms read particularly strong in short phrases, while the lowercase maintains a steady, no-nonsense texture in paragraphs.
