A refined text serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and sharply tapered terminals. Serifs are bracketed and neatly cut, with a slightly calligraphic feel in the curves and joins. Capitals are stately with wide, open counters (notably C, O, Q) and balanced proportions; the Q has a clear, sweeping tail. Lowercase shows compact x-height relative to ascenders, with sturdy verticals and crisp, tapered finishing strokes; the a is double-storey and the g is double-storey with a defined ear. Numerals follow the same high-contrast, old-style-informed construction, with elegant curves and narrow joins that keep the texture lively.

Well-suited to long-form reading in books and literary layouts, and it also performs confidently for magazine typography, pull quotes, and formal headings. The crisp contrast and elegant details make it especially effective in larger sizes for editorial titles, invitations, and other refined print-forward applications.

The overall tone is traditional and composed, projecting authority and polish without feeling ornamental. Its high-contrast rhythm and crisp detailing lend a bookish, editorial character suited to serious, classic contexts.

The design appears intended as a conventional, high-contrast serif for comfortable reading with an elevated, classic voice. It aims to balance traditional book typography with a slightly sharper, more contemporary crispness in terminals and hairlines.

In text, the color is moderately lively: strong vertical stems create a stable baseline while the thin hairlines add sparkle at larger sizes. The design reads cleanly in mixed-case, with clear differentiation between similar forms (I/J, O/Q) and a consistent, disciplined serif treatment across the set.
