A robust serif with pronounced contrast between thick stems and fine hairlines, set on a fairly vertical axis. The serifs are bracketed and tapered, with a traditional, carved feel rather than geometric sharpness. Capitals read wide and stable with generous internal counters, while the lowercase shows a compact, text-oriented rhythm, including a double-storey a and g and rounded joins that keep forms smooth at size. Numerals are traditional and slightly varied in width, maintaining the same strong thick–thin modulation as the letters.

Performs well for editorial typography—magazine features, book interiors, and longform reading—especially where a confident, classic serif voice is desired. It also suits display applications like section heads, pull quotes, and traditional brand marks where strong contrast and sturdy serifs help create a premium, established feel.

The overall tone is classical and institutional, projecting confidence and editorial seriousness. Its weight and contrast give it a slightly dramatic, print-forward presence without becoming ornate, suggesting a voice suited to established brands and traditional publishing.

Designed to deliver a conventional text-serif foundation with a heavier, more emphatic color, pairing traditional proportions and bracketed serifs with lively thick–thin contrast. The intent appears to be dependable readability with enough refinement and authority to work equally well in editorial display.

In the sample text, the darker weight produces strong color on the page, and the fine hairlines remain a distinct feature that adds sparkle to large sizes. The ampersand and punctuation follow the same conventional, book-serif styling, reinforcing a cohesive, traditional texture.
