A high-contrast serif with clearly bracketed, wedge-like serifs and strongly modulated strokes that echo broad-nib calligraphy. The capitals are stately and open, with crisp terminals and a slightly tapered, chiseled feel in curves and joins. Lowercase forms stay readable with a moderate rhythm, featuring a two-storey a, a compact two-storey g with a pronounced ear, and gently angled cross-strokes that keep the texture lively rather than rigid. Numerals appear lining and proportional, with elegant curves and delicate thins that align with the text’s overall sparkle.

Well-suited to long-form reading in books and editorial layouts where a classic serif texture is desired. It also performs nicely for refined headlines, pull quotes, and formal printed materials such as invitations or programs, particularly at sizes where the contrast and fine details can be appreciated.

The tone is traditional and bookish, projecting refinement and credibility with a subtly human warmth. Its contrast and sharp detailing lend a formal, editorial voice, while the calligraphic cues prevent it from feeling cold or mechanical.

The design appears intended to modernize an old-style, calligraphy-informed serif for contemporary typography, balancing elegance and readability. It aims to provide a credible, classical voice with enough stroke modulation and serif shaping to feel crafted rather than generic.

In text, the face produces a crisp, slightly sparkling color due to the thin hairlines and tapered serifs, especially at larger sizes. Curved letters like C, O, and Q show smooth, controlled modulation, and the ampersand reads decorative yet coherent with the rest of the set.
