A robust, high-contrast serif with pronounced thick–thin modulation and crisp, finely tapered terminals. The letterforms show bracketed serifs, strong vertical stress, and compact counters, producing a dense, confident texture. Capitals are tall and stately with sharp joins and clean symmetry, while lowercase forms keep a traditional rhythm with a two-storey “a” and “g,” a rounded “e” with a firm horizontal bar, and a “t” whose crossbar reads slightly above midline. Numerals are sturdy and old-style in spirit, with noticeable modulation and curved transitions that match the text forms.

Well-suited to editorial typography such as magazine headlines, section titles, and pull quotes, as well as book typography where a classic serif voice is desired. It can also serve in branding systems that need a traditional, trustworthy tone, especially at display and subhead sizes where contrast and serifs read cleanly.

The overall tone is traditional and authoritative, with an editorial, bookish presence that feels established and formal. Its contrast and structured proportions convey seriousness and refinement rather than casual friendliness.

The design appears intended to deliver a classic, print-oriented reading experience with strong contrast and conventional serif detailing, aiming for authority and clarity across both uppercase-driven titling and mixed-case text.

In text, the spacing and stroke contrast create a dark, even color that suits larger sizes and headlines, while still maintaining recognizable, conventional shapes for continuous reading. The italic is not shown; the samples indicate a consistent roman style across cases and figures.
