A high-contrast serif with pronounced vertical stress, sturdy main stems, and very fine hairlines. Serifs are sharp and delicate with minimal bracketing, creating crisp entry and exit points and a distinctly engraved rhythm. Capitals are proportionally tall and dignified, while the lowercase shows a short x-height with comparatively long ascenders and descenders, giving text a traditional, bookish profile. Curves are smooth and controlled (notably in O/Q/C), and details like the two-storey a and g, compact e, and narrow joins keep color consistent despite the strong contrast.

Well suited to editorial design, magazine typography, and book jackets where high contrast can contribute sophistication and hierarchy. It also fits formal applications such as invitations and premium branding, particularly for display sizes and short text where its refined serifs and sharp terminals can be appreciated.

The overall tone is polished and classical, leaning toward literary and luxury cues rather than casual or utilitarian ones. Its fine details and vertical emphasis convey formality, precision, and a distinctly editorial feel.

The design appears intended to deliver a modernized Didone-like elegance: strong vertical structure paired with delicate hairlines for a crisp, upscale impression. Proportions and detailing prioritize refinement and typographic authority over ruggedness or purely screen-first neutrality.

At larger sizes the hairlines and pointed serifs read especially crisp, while in smaller text the short x-height and delicate horizontals give a lighter page color. Numerals follow the same high-contrast logic, with elegant curves and thin connecting strokes that match the text face.
