A very heavy serif with pronounced stroke contrast and a crisp, sculpted silhouette. Serifs are firmly bracketed, with wedge-like finishing on many joins and a strong vertical stress in the rounded letters. Curves are broad and smooth, counters are moderately open for the weight, and terminals often resolve into rounded or subtly bulbous forms (notably in letters like a, c, f, and j). The lowercase shows compact, sturdy construction with a two-storey a and g, and the numerals include oldstyle-style figures that mix ascenders and descenders, reinforcing a traditional text rhythm even at display sizes.

Best suited to headlines and large typography where its contrast and bracketed serifs can read cleanly and project authority. It also works well for editorial display, book covers, and brand marks that want a classic, established voice; for long-running small text, it will be most comfortable when given generous size and leading.

The overall tone is confident and traditional, with a stately, editorial presence. Its bold contrast and emphatic serifs give it a serious, institutional feel, while the rounded terminals add a touch of warmth and charm rather than austerity.

The design appears intended to deliver a conventional, bookish serif voice in a much bolder, higher-impact form—retaining traditional proportions and details while amplifying contrast and weight for attention-grabbing use.

In text settings the weight produces strong color and clear emphasis, making it especially impactful for short passages. The combination of tight interior spaces and high contrast suggests careful spacing will matter in dense layouts, particularly where letterforms like S, a, e, and s create darker pockets.
