A slab-serif, typewriter-like design with sturdy proportions and blunt terminals, rendered with heavily irregular, ragged edges that mimic worn metal type or rough ink transfer. Strokes keep a consistent underlying skeleton but show pronounced texture and chipping along contours, creating a mottled silhouette and slightly fuzzy counters. Letterforms are compact and pragmatic, with strong horizontal serifs and simple joins; the overall rhythm feels mechanical yet imperfect, as if printed on absorbent paper or through a degraded ribbon. Numerals and capitals match the same rugged treatment, maintaining legibility while emphasizing surface noise.

Well suited to display and short-form copy where texture is part of the message: posters, book and album covers, film or podcast titling, editorial pull quotes, and themed packaging or labels. It can also work for simulated typewritten notes, dossiers, and archival graphics, especially when set with generous size and spacing to keep the distressed edges readable.

The font conveys an analog, hardboiled tone—part newsroom, part case-file—combining utilitarian typewriter authority with a distressed, timeworn edge. It suggests age, friction, and authenticity, reading as gritty and cinematic rather than polished.

The design appears intended to recreate the look of typewritten or letterpress-like text that has been degraded by age, wear, and imperfect printing—prioritizing atmosphere and materiality while preserving a recognizable, workmanlike serif structure.

Texture is applied consistently across the set, so the distress feels built-in rather than incidental, but the roughness can visually darken paragraphs and reduce clarity at small sizes. In larger settings the chipped contours become a defining feature and add tactile character without losing the underlying structure.
