A sturdy serif with pronounced flared terminals and wedge-like serifs that broaden smoothly out of the stems. The letterforms show softly sculpted joins and moderate bracketing, producing a carved, calligraphic feel rather than sharp mechanical edges. Counters are generally generous and rounded, while curves and diagonals (notably in S, C, and Z) finish with subtle, blade-like endings. Lowercase features a two-storey a, a compact two-storey g, and a long-tailed y; the overall rhythm is slightly variable with lively stroke shaping that adds texture in text.

Well-suited to editorial typography and long-form reading where a classic serif voice is desired, while the bold, flared detailing also holds up in headlines and display sizes. It can lend heritage character to branding, packaging, and poster work, especially where a traditional, crafted texture is beneficial.

The tone reads traditional and literary, with a faint medieval or inscriptional undercurrent from the flared, wedge-ended strokes. It feels confident and established, but not cold—more humanist and hand-influenced than strictly formal.

The design appears intended to merge readable, traditional serif construction with a more expressive, flared stroke finish reminiscent of pen or chisel work. Its consistent wedge-terminal language suggests a goal of adding historic warmth and personality without sacrificing clarity in text.

The uppercase set has strong presence and a slightly monumental stance, while the lowercase stays compact and practical for continuous reading. Numerals are robust and stylistically aligned with the flared, wedge-terminal motif, keeping a cohesive, old-style impression even in figures.
