A sturdy serif with pronounced thick–thin contrast and strongly modeled, flared terminals. The serifs are bracketed and often wedge-like, with stems that swell into the joins, giving the letters a carved, sculptural feel. Counters are relatively tight in the lowercase, while uppercase forms read broad and stable, producing a confident horizontal footprint. The rhythm is compact and weighty, with crisp edges and clear internal shapes that hold up well at display sizes.

Best suited to headlines, subheads, pull quotes, book and magazine titling, and branding where a confident serif voice is needed. It can work in short paragraphs or lead-ins at comfortable sizes, particularly when you want a dark, emphatic text color and a classic-but-assertive tone.

The overall tone is formal and editorial, combining a traditional bookish voice with a more dramatic, poster-like presence. Its sharp contrast and sculpted serifs lend a sense of authority and ceremony, while the slightly chunky, energetic forms keep it from feeling delicate or purely classical.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional serif structure with heightened contrast and flared, sculptural finishing, prioritizing impact and presence. It aims to read as authoritative and refined while remaining robust and highly legible in display use.

Numerals and capitals appear especially commanding, with strong vertical emphasis and heavy finishing strokes that create clear word-shape punctuation. In longer settings the dense color and high contrast can feel intense, making spacing and size choices important for comfortable reading.
