A sturdy serif with pronounced, flared terminals and wedge-like serifs that broaden from the stems, creating a carved, calligraphic feel. Strokes are robust and relatively even, with moderate modulation and crisp joins; counters are open but compact, giving the face a dense, high-impact color on the page. The uppercase shows classical proportions with strong vertical emphasis, while the lowercase has a sturdy, high-waisted structure and a single-storey “g”, contributing to a traditional text rhythm. Numerals and punctuation inherit the same flared detailing, keeping the texture consistent across settings.

Well-suited to magazine and newspaper-style headlines, pull quotes, and section titling where strong serif character is desirable. It can also support book and long-form editorial typography at comfortable sizes, and works effectively for branding and packaging that aims for a classic, established voice.

The overall tone is traditional and authoritative, with an editorial seriousness that reads as established and trustworthy. The flared endings add a subtly historical, engraved character, balancing formality with a hint of humanist warmth.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional serif voice with extra visual punch, using flared terminals and wedge serifs to evoke inscriptional or engraved letterforms while remaining practical for contemporary layout.

The spacing and silhouettes produce a firm, slightly condensed-feeling texture in paragraphs, with prominent serifs that help guide the eye horizontally. The design’s distinctive flaring is most noticeable in vertical stems and stroke endings, which gives headings a stately, poster-like presence without relying on extreme contrast.
