A high-contrast serif with a sturdy, weighty presence and crisp hairline details. Strokes show strong thick–thin modulation with predominantly vertical stress, creating bright, sharp counters and a rhythmic, engraved look. Serifs are fine and pointed rather than blocky, and many joins form pronounced notches where heavy stems meet thinning curves. Proportions feel generously set with broad capitals and open, rounded bowls, while the lowercase maintains a conventional x-height and a solid, bookish texture.

Best suited to headlines, magazine and newspaper-style editorial typography, and statement text where contrast can be appreciated. It also fits packaging, book covers, and branding systems that want a classic serif voice with strong visual impact. For long passages, it will likely perform best with comfortable size and spacing so the hairlines don’t get lost.

The overall tone is formal and assertive, combining classical refinement with a punchy, poster-ready contrast. It reads as traditional and trustworthy, but with enough drama in the thin strokes and sharp serifs to feel emphatic and attention-grabbing in display settings.

The design appears intended to deliver a traditional serif voice with heightened contrast and sharp finishing to create a premium, authoritative display texture. Its broad proportions and clear vertical rhythm suggest it was drawn to hold up in impactful titling while retaining a familiar, classical structure.

The type shows clear differentiation between straight stems and swelling curves, and the numerals share the same emphatic thick–thin rhythm. Letterforms like the round capitals and the strong, wedge-like finishing strokes give the face a sculpted, engraved character that remains legible at larger sizes.
