A high-contrast serif with bracketed serifs and a traditionally modulated, calligraphic stroke model. The capitals are stately and proportioned with generous curves and crisp terminals, while the lowercase shows oldstyle influence through angled stress, a two-storey “a,” and a lively, slightly asymmetric “e.” Serifs are sharp but not slabby, and joins transition smoothly into stems, producing a polished text rhythm. Numerals are lining and share the same contrast and serif treatment, giving figures a bookish, integrated look in running text.

Well-suited to long-form reading in books and editorial layouts, where its traditional proportions and high-contrast modeling create an elegant text color. It also performs well for magazine and newspaper headlines, section titles, and formal documents that benefit from a classic serif voice.

The overall tone feels classic and literary, with an editorial seriousness suited to established, trustworthy communication. Its refined contrast and traditional detailing convey formality and a sense of heritage without becoming overly ornamental.

The design appears intended as a conventional, text-forward serif that balances refinement with clarity, using classic proportions and pronounced contrast to deliver an authoritative, editorial character across both display and extended reading sizes.

In the sample text, the strong thick–thin modulation gives headlines and pull quotes a dignified presence, while the consistent serif treatment and moderate spacing help maintain a coherent texture across mixed-case text. Curved letters (C, G, O, Q) and diagonals (V, W, X, Y) read particularly cleanly due to the crisp terminals and controlled contrast.
