This typeface uses a serifed, old-style skeleton that’s been aggressively roughened: edges are ragged, corners bite into sharp points, and terminals often flare into thorn-like spurs. Strokes show uneven contours and subtly wavy outlines that mimic broken ink or eroded printing, while counters remain mostly open enough to keep forms recognizable. Proportions feel slightly condensed in places with lively, inconsistent stroke endings, giving the alphabet a hand-worn, weathered rhythm rather than a polished, geometric cadence.

Best suited for display typography such as Halloween promotions, horror or thriller posters, haunted attraction signage, and atmospheric game/film branding. It can also work on book covers or chapter heads where an aged, gothic mood is desired, especially when paired with simpler supporting text.

The overall tone is sinister and antiquated, blending a medieval or storybook foundation with unsettling, scratchy texture. It reads as threatening and dramatic—more “cursed parchment” than clean horror drip—suited to settings that want tension, folklore, or gothic atmosphere.

The design appears intended to evoke an old serif print tradition that has been corrupted or distressed, using jagged spurs and rough edges to inject unease while preserving familiar letter structures for readability.

The distressing is consistent across capitals, lowercase, and numerals, with pointed notches and torn-looking curves appearing as a deliberate motif. In longer text, the texture creates a strong dark color and visual noise, making it most effective when given generous size and spacing rather than used for dense body copy.
